The Airport serves the West and North West of Ireland and is located on the main Galway to Sligo Road (N17) only 22km from Knock village County Mayo. Also within a couple of hours drive of the airport are, the Hills of Donegal, beautiful Derry, the Erne lakes and river of Fermanagh. Told in a lively, entertaining manner by former Newspaper Editor Terry Reilly, it has recently been made into a musical of the same name, which premiered in the Royal Theatre, Castlebar, on November 25th 2010.
